The Okayama Spirit 5 is a 16oz Japanese Selvedge denim made with a major emphasis on texture and high contrast fade results.
The uneven surface texture running throughout the denim comes from the use of irregular shaped slub in the weaving process. These yarns are thick in some parts and thin in others, giving the jeans loads of texture and when dyed indigo is absorbed unevenly allowing for a wide spectrum of indigo shades to present themselves with wear. Low tension weaving creates further irregularity in the fabric for an almost handwoven appearance. Finally, a black weft interior gives the jeans an ultra-deep color tone, which will contrast beautifully against the exterior as it fades to brighter shades of indigo.
The Okayama Spirit 5 is sanforized, so there should be minimal shrinkage when soaked or washed.
Cut, sewn, built in Canada with contrast stitching, redline selvedge ID, a 10oz black buffalo leather patch, and black mil-spec non-reflective buttons and rivets.
